January Happenings, thus far!

Another snowy Dallas winter.
Okay slight exaggeration, considering it only lasted, like, 3 days, and then it melted.
Nonetheless, it was magical AND I was off work, so I could actually enjoy it.

On another note, you're reading the blog of the newest called SUNBEAM TEACHER of the Dallas 4th ward.  I have three official kiddos in my class; Wesley, Lilly, and Sam.  They are precious (we're talking cheek-pinchable precious).  Lilly was a little more timid and hesitant to get into things, but towards the end of class she announced "I'm not nervous anymore!".  She's a doll.  I can't wait until Sunday!

A friend of mine from college passed away.  We had many-a-good-time.  We went through thick and thin.  And I have so many fond memories of her.  RIP Gina Elaine Wiley.  Really, I still can't believe you're gone, you are missed my GG, love TauTau.  <3

Not much else going on.
Oh, only 1 week until my birthday!  Yay me!... also, I feel a new blog header in the works, seeing as how it is no longer NOVEMBER.  Embarrassing.  ;)

Have a great weekend everyone.
Love, love, love.

The Bittersweet

I hate bittersweet things.  The bitter always seems to outnumber the sweet.

A friend I grew up with (the adolescent days/high school) recently passed away.

You see the trials and tribulations one has to go through and you wonder what God has in store for us all.  It's bittersweet.  You realize your miniscule problems really don't matter that much when other people go through far worse.  It's bittersweet.  You go through life taking the small things for granted and you don't realize how much someone's loss can effect you.  It's bittersweet.  When a peer dies way before his/her time, it makes you think about what you're doing with your life... where am I going?  What am I doing?  What does God have in store for me?  And that thought, well, it's bittersweet.

Jeff, I know we weren't very close and I know that there are MANY (so many) people that are hurting far more than me, but you are truly missed ... I know you know that.  You're in a MILLION-times better place and you are and will continue to be loved by so, so many.

Austin City Limits

This past weekend, I went to Austin to visit a couple of my friends, and to see some of Austin – well, as much site seeing as you can do in less than 48 hours! I went to see my friends Darien and Christine. It was great seeing them, but it was SO hot outside! Swam at Barton Springs and drove by Lake Travis. Lake Travis had the BLUEST water I’ve ever seen in a lake! It was beautiful, sad to say I couldn’t get a picture of it. Guess I’ll have to go back one day! Here is a picture of Darien and I:

Sad to hear about Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed Mcmahon, and Billy Mayes. REALLY sad that Michael’s death totally overshadowed Farrah’s. Anyways, as soon as I heard the news of Michael’s death, I popped in my MJ’s greatest hits cd… and I’ve been listening since. What’s your favorite Michael Jackson song? I think right now, I’d have to say Rock With You is my favorite.
Anyways... I'm praying it's just my allergies, but I've developed a cough, scratchy throat and body aches overnight. I tell you because I know you wanted to know.
This Thursday marks the first day I start saving for my digital SLR camera I've been wanting. Haven't picked one out quite yet, but I will be picking one out any day now!
I hope everyone has a happy 4th of July! I'll be working, making triple time since it's a holiday! :) Wooo-hoo! Ok, people, until next time!

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol

As it has been a great semester it has also been a tough one for me.  Many losses.  This post I dedicate to those no longer with me.  I'm lucky I'm basically a happy person, so I'm coping fine with all of what has happened, so not to worry.  I probably handle it better than some, but I don't particularly take death well, so I've decided it was important for me to say how I feel in their regards.  Thanksgiving just came and went and now Christmas is coming up, and I feel a little more thankful for my life here every day.

To Rachael:
I know you're in a better place, and I know you're looking down on all of us.  Thank you for helping to nurse me back to health this last summer when I was injured.  It doesn't seem fair that you had to die so young, but I know it's all apart of His plan for you and that you are in a MUCH better place.  You were a great and funny girl and I can't wait to see you one day again.

To Cousin Nonie:
Dearest Nonie, I've known you my entire life and it is sad to think that you're no longer here with us.  You blessed and touched my life in so many ways and I will always be thankful to you for that.  You are sincerely missed by so many.  I will always love and miss you, Nonie!

To Edward:
While this one is a little more comical because it's my pet fish, I kind of took it hard.  If you know me at all, you know that I have A LOT of compassion for all living animals... so naturally...
You were a great fish little Edward, survived by your mate, Bella.  I miss you more than people probably think and like the others, I can't wait to see you again.

To my dear, dear Rudy:
While I know you're not suffering or in pain anymore, I still wish you were here.  To some it might be ridiculous that I've shed the most tears for you, but you meant so, SO much to me.  It will be a real struggle to let you go.  I wish I could have been with you in the end and I'm sorry I didn't come around more often.  You were and will always be my dearest pet.  I will undoubtedly miss you more than you can ever know.  I love you dear Rudy and always will.

Until next time, on a happier note, I hope.
