I have just recently learned of a flower known as the Peony. I had heard of them & may have once had a Bath & Body Works fragrance with hints of Peony...
...but I thought they were just weird roses. (Maybe they're flower cousins?)
Anywho, I think I've found my new favorite flower... I didn't think anything could top my red poppies!

Ok, so, nothing terribly shocking, but I had to get your attention, right?
And, on another thought, I LOVE THIS:
Eyes, look your last,
Arms, take your last embrace,
and, lips, O you
The doors of breath,
Seal with a righteous kiss.
There's just something about this excerpt from Romeo + Juliet. Maybe I'm a hopeless romantic? But I just love the metaphorical-ness of it... "doors of breath"... I'd never think to call my lips that, but thats the beauty of Shakespeare.
Did people really talk like this? I do think it's beautiful, but if someone were to walk up to me now and say: "KISS MY DOORS OF BREATH!" I would probably respond with a resounding "Excuse me?"
Oh, how the times have changed. Ok, who's sending me some peonies? That would just complete my week. ;)
I love peonies too. My mom had a whole flower patch of them as I was growing up so I took starts from hers and now every Spring we have beautiful pink, white, and red peonies blooming in our yard.
